Spinal Decompression Table Therapy
Although there is no substitute for the skilled hands of a Gonstead-trained chiropractor,
our KDT spinal decompression table provides added benfits for the treatment of certain conditions.
Spinal decompression table therapy is a non-surgical traction/decompression treatment that can
effectively treat back, neck, arm, and leg pain due to
bulging discs in the neck and lower back, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, facet arthritis,
failed back surgery syndrome, sciatica, and radiculopathy.
Dr. Erik was trained and certified in the use of the decompression table by the foremost expert in spinal
decompression, Jay Kennedy, D.C.,
who has unparalleled experience and expertise in the field having treated thousands of patients over the last 14 years.
Spinal decompression utilizes computer controlled gradual application of intermittent pull-release
to prevent guarding or spasming of the para-spinal muscles.
It causes the "Golgi Apparatus" in your muscles to relax,
sort of like a dimmer switch, and eventually the muscles are encouraged to stop being in spasm.
Spinal decompression creates a negative pressure on the spine, which then allows increased blood flow
bringing along substantial oxygen and nutrients. This negative pressure allows protruded, bulging,
or herniated discs to be coaxed back within their normal confines.
The combination of pull-relax to patient tolerance has a two-tiered
effect that causes decreased muscle spasm, decreased pressure within the disc, increased
blood flow and increased oxygen to the area all adding up to healing of the discs that utilizes natural
anatomy and physiology.
